Raif Kurt

Raif Kurt, born in 1983 in Istanbul, is a versatile Turkish contemporary artist. He graduated from Istanbul Saint Michel French High School, and later pursued Art History at The American University of Paris (AUP). In 2007, he began his artistic career by establishing an art studio called “Hangar” in Istanbul, focusing on painting. He then furthered his education at the State Academy of Arts in Baku, completing a four-year degree in painting.

Raif Kurt works across multiple disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography, video art, and short films.

His diverse portfolio reflects a deep engagement with visual storytelling and multimedia expression.

In 2011, he gained international recognition when his video “ALEPH by Raif Kurt” won first place in a global competition inspired by Paulo Coelho’s novel Aleph, chosen among over 100,000 submissions. His works have been exhibited in prestigious art events such as Contemporary Istanbul and featured in major auctions by Artam Antik Auction House. Raif Kurt’s art blends digital and traditional mediums, often incorporating oil painting, photography, music, and film, creating a distinctive and multidimensional artistic signature.
